Burkina Faso President Roch Marc Christian Kabore came to CTG headquarters and met with Wang Lin, CTG president, on September 1, 2018. Mutual views on cooperation and development of clean energy were exchanged.
Wang Lin welcomed President Kabore’s visit to CTG. He said that CTG always deemed Africa as its key international business area, and had built more than 300 infrastructure projects in over 30 African countries through its subsidiary CWE, which greatly improved the local livelihood and economic development. China and Africa had been a community of destiny and good friends in the same boat, so CTG attached great importance to its business in Burkina Faso and would like to take the opportunity of this visit by the President to further promote the pragmatic development of CTG in Burkina Faso in the field of clean energy, establish economic and trade cooperation with local companies in Burkina Faso, and jointly promote the economic and social development of the country.
Li Jian, the Chinese Charge d’affaires in Burkina Faso, said that President Xi Jinping held a historic meeting with the President Kabore yesterday and witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation documents, which opened up the broad prospects for bilateral cooperation between China and Burkina Faso. Among all things to be done, electricity should go first. CTG, as a world-class leading clean energy company specializing in design, construction and operation, created the miraculous Three Gorges Project in human history. The Chinese Embassy in Burkina Faso would firmly support CTG to develop business in the country and bring light to the people and energy for local enterprises. It was expected that the government of Burkina Faso would provide better investment environment and more stable business environment for CTG and other Chinese companies to jointly promote the development of China-Burkina Faso relations.
President Kabore said that he was very glad to visit CTG and learned more about CTG’s business. “Yesterday, I held talks with President Xi Jinping and achieved important and fruitful results. Burkina Faso hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in various fields, especially in the field of energy and power. Burkina Faso is still facing huge power shortage. It is hoped that CTG will actively participate in the development and utilization of renewable energy and power infrastructure in Burkina Faso, jointly explore ways to improve the efficiency of renewable energy utilization, and seek more distinctive and high-quality mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation methods. The two sides will lay a solid foundation for multi-level cooperation in a wider field in the future.” he said.
Following the talks, President Kabroe and Wang Lin jointly witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the 225kV Power Transmission and Transformation Project (Niangoloko-Ouagadougou).
CTG’s vice president Lin Chuxue also attended the meeting.
