Constructed by CWE on an EPC basis with a total installed capacity of 183.2MW and annual average generation of 1.039 billion kWh, the Isimba Hydropower Project is mainly composed of a powerhouse, a spillway, two gravity dam sections, rock-fill dam sections on both banks, and associated transmission lines. Upon the completion of the project, the national power installation of Uganda will increase by 19% and the annual power generation by 1/5, effectively alleviating power shortage in Uganda and even allowing power exportation to neighboring countries.
