Pollution-free Construction in Hong Kong

The Kwai Chung Incineration Plant Demolition and Decontamination Works in Hong Kong received social attention ever since its commencement. Until 8th Aug., 2009, when the 2m high 30t concrete ring segment was steadily positioned with a 164m high 600t crawler crane, the proposed demolition method for the 150m high chimney, a key work of the project, was proven to be feasible, reliable and environmental-friendly. The new techniques in demolition and decontamination, successfully avoiding dust diffusion and soil pollution, were then widely reported on by all the major local media.
