Completion certificate obtained for Kai Tak runway park construction project in Hong Kong

Update:2014-04-29

The completion certificate for Section 1B of the Kai Tak Runway Park Construction Project (Phase 1) in Hong Kong undertaken by CWE was awarded on April 14, 2014. This project, located at the old Kai Tak airport in east Kowloon, was commenced on August 13, 2012 for construction of a promenade and auxiliary facilities. The section 1A of this project was completed on January 20, 2014 and the section 1B on March 29, 2014, declaring the start of a maintenance period for one year.

As this project is a focus of the core program for Kai Tak development drawing wide media attentions, strict requirements for construction quality and much more strict requirements for safety and environment-friendly construction compared to other governmental projects are made by the local government. During its execution, the project experienced nearly 100 inspections conducted by relevant governmental authorities on safety and environmental protection and still achieved the objectives of "Five Zero", i.e., zero incident, zero accident, zero prosecution, zero complaint and zero dispute.

By this project, CWE Hong Kong has improved cultivation of its expatriates and established a localized team dominated by the expatriates. Localization in this project has not only built a capable management team, but also brought about a good economic benefit for the project.

The Kai Tak runway park, which was completed in splendor for the core development of Kai Tak, will be opened to the public gradually from April 22, 2014.
