Update:2014-06-20

A delegation of the World Bank, accompanied by the Employer, the Engineer and other relevant parties, arrived at the Rehabilitation of Makhi Complex and Khipro Canal Project undertaken by CWE in Pakistan for a site inspection on 12th and 13th of June, 2014.

During their two-day visit, the delegation members inspected the construction of Makhi complex structures, which is the largest divisional work of this project, with special attention paid to the concrete main works at Makhi over-canal regulator and the installation of radial gates at Khipro Canal and Khipro Canal. The members showed satisfaction with the quality of concrete works, technology applied in radial gate installation, working progress, safety control, and environmental protection. Later in a site meeting, after listening to CWE's brief report on the project overall situation, difficulties, and next plans, the delegation gave instructions towards problems seriously affecting the construction progress, such as delayed land acquisition, and required for the Employer's early resolution.

In view of CWE's outstanding performance in the construction of the Nara Canal and the Khipro Canal, the delegation also exchanged views with CWE on supplementary works of the Rehabilitation of Makhi Complex and Khipro Canal Project.
