Update:2014-06-19

In Guinea, one of the company's priority markets, CWE is now working on the Kaleta Hydroelectric Project and the Conakry Power Grid Upgrading Project. Given the excellent project performance of CWE and in light of the social stability, the Guinean government committed the transformer installation of the Sonfoniah Substation to CWE in this early May and required that the work should be completed and put into operation before June 12, which was the day for the opening ceremony of 2014 World Cup. The aforesaid work was finally completed on June 9, being checked and accepted by a joint team organized by the Ministry of Energy of Guinea, and handed over for formal operation.

Owing to failure of the main transformer at the Sonfoniah Substation, power supply to the coverage area was suspended for almost half a year, causing complaints and protests by local residents for a long time with riots appeared, which drew a lot of attention of the Guinean government. The government then decided to replace the broken-down transformers.

Within merely three weeks, the installation and commissioning of the said substation was completed with CWE's well planning and joint efforts by the manufacturer, installation contractor, and Guinean Electricity Company. Better still, an overhaul and test of auxiliary equipment and operator training were conducted jointly by Guinean Electricity Company and CWE, who was highly praised therefor.

The successful operation of new transformers at the Sonfoniah Substation completely changed the power supply situation of the area, ending the half-a-year power cut in this area, establishing CWE's good image, enhancing trust by the Guinean government and local people in CWE, and laying a solid foundation for CWE's implementation of ongoing projects and market development in depth.
