Philippine Timbaban runoff-river hydropower project kicks off

Update:2015-06-12

CWE received a written notice from the Employer of the Timbaban Runoff-River Hydropower Project on April 20, 2015, which confirmed the effectiveness of the EPC contract and the commencement date of the project.

Located in Panay Island in the central Philippines, the project is a run-off river plant with a total installed capacity of 3×6MW. Major works include the head gate dam, intake structures, diversion box culverts and tunnel, forebay, penstocks, ground powerhouse, switchyard, access roads, transmission lines, etc. The EPC contract of the project was inked on 14th October, 2014, and the construction period is 36 months.

This project is CWE’s first hydropower project, first EPC contract, and first project with private funds in the Philippines. Given the complete privatization of power market in the Philippines, the signing of this contract marks CWE’s successful entry into the Philippine hydropower market and is of great strategic significance to CWE’s future development in this country.
