Fulfilling social responsibility to improve environment - tree-planting activity co-sponsored by CWE and Lao government

On 5th June, 2015, the Arbor Day in Laos, CWE and the Kasi county government co-sponsored a planting activity.


The participants, regardless of age or nationality, planted trees sweatily in full swing, looking forward to seeing shady trees and green woods through afforestation annually from generation to generation. CWE took practical action to add greenery for the county, reflecting the company’s environment consciousness and popularizing the green culture.


Under CTG’s hydropower development concept of building a first-class hydropower plant to stimulate the growth of the local economy, improve the local environment, and benefit resettled residents, in order to practice effectively the international corporate social responsibility, improve the basin ecology where the power plant is situated, CWE’s Nam Lik 1-2 Power Co., Ltd., according to the clause of the Concession Agreement, provided funds for and jointly established with the Lao government the Nam Lik River Basin Management Commission, which is in charge of the audit of basin ecological management as well as the water and soil conservation works, the supervision on project implementation and fund utilization, and the irregular basin ecological management works.


Li Kai, General Manager of CWE Laos, Qi Xuechun, CWE’s General Manager of Nam Ngiep 2 Hydropower Project, and Li Jianzhong, General Manager of Nam Lik 1-2 Power Co., Ltd., among others participated this tree-planting activity.
