Joint donation for locals launched by CWE and China’s Embassy to Uganda

CWE’s Isimba HPP management and China’s Embassy to Uganda jointly launched a donation activity for locals in Kayunga district to improve the local production and living conditions. Nearly three hundred people attended the activity including among others China’s Ambassador to Uganda Zhao Yali, Governor of Kayunga State Stephen Dagada, Representative of the President of Uganda, officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, representative of the project consultant, Chief Executive of Kayunga District.


During the donation ceremony, Jiang Shouguo, CWE’s Vice President and General Manager of the project, gave an enthusiastic speech, sincerely expressing warm gratitude for supports from the Embassy and local government and welcome to local people’s active participation. He also made commitments to energetically assume social responsibilities in activities to the benefit of locals to carry forward Chinese time-honored virtues.


The honorable Ambassador in his remarks spoke highly of the friendliness of Ugandan and CWE’s commitments on social responsibilities. He also indicated that China and Uganda would continue cordial collaboration for mutual development on the basis of mutual respect and win-win cooperation, hoping that the relationship and cooperation between the two countries could go deeper and further.


The activity featuring love and care was warmly attended by local government and people. Local officials represented by the Governor of Kayunga State expressed their thanks to Chinese Government and CWE. The donated items include TV sets, sewing machines, tractors, sponge mattresses, footballs, etc.
