Isimba HPP launches first-aid training for local employees in Uganda
As part of efforts to improve the local employees’ capacity to conduct self-rescue and come to other’s rescue when emergency occurs, CWE’s Isimba Hydroelectric Project Management invited St. John Ambulance, an authoritative first-aid training organization in Uganda, to the project clinic for a 3-day first-aid training program for local employees.
During the training session, the trainers introduced in details basic rescue knowledge, including human anatomy, judgement on injury severity, artificial respiration, chest compressions, emergency bandaging, fracture fixation and use of ambulance stretchers. The whole training was well received by attentive trainees from different work faces, with explanations, interactions and practices carried out throughout. At the end of the session, those who passed the test were awarded training certificates.
This training, by which trainees grasped theoretical knowledge and gained hands-on experience, attained good results and played a guiding role in emergency handling and rescue by local employees in emergencies.
