Chinese ambassador to Uganda Zheng Zhuqiang inspects Isimba project in Uganda
Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zheng Zhuqiang and Commercial Counselor Zhao Xiufen inspected CWE’s Isimba Hydropower Project in Uganda on December 8, 2016. They were accompanied by the CWE’s executive deputy project manager Liu Renwei and other managerial staff.
Ambassador Zheng and his entourage watched a video about the project construction process, and listened to a report on the project progress, quality, safety, environmental protection, business and social responsibility performance. In a following meeting, Ambassador Zheng fully affirmed the achievements made by CWE at the project, encouraged the project management to continue to actively fulfill social responsibility, maintain communication and interaction with surrounding communities as well as enhance friendship. Ambassador Zheng also conveyed the requirements of the Chinese government for the embassy to conduct project inspection, which emphasized the project safety. He asked the project team to continue to maintain its good management level, strict control in safe production as always, and complete the project successfully as schedule.
Ambassador Zheng and Counselor Zhao said that they would fully support CWE’s work in Uganda and encourage the project team to keep motivated and take the Isimba project as an opportunity to develop more businessin Uganda and promote friendly relations between the two countries.
After the meeting, Ambassador Zheng and his entourage visited the construction site of the foundation pit, learned in detail the actual situation of the project and carried out a further review on the safety work.
