Ministers inspects AMT Expressway Project in Senegal

On January 16, 2017, a delegation headed by the Senegalese Minister of Infrastructure, Land Transportation, and Traffic Improvement, Hon. Mansour Elimane Kane, and the Minister of Mines and Industry, Hon. Aly Ngouille Ndiaye, inspected the Expressway Project of Blaise Diagne International Airport-Mbour-Thies (AMT) undertaken by CWE.


Accompanied by DEME and Song Shixiang, the Employer’s and the Contractor’s project manager respectively, the two Honorable and their entourage visited the interchange near the Blaise Diagne International Airport, and excavation areas connecting the airport and Thies (major city in Senegal). They also discussed with the two managers  the overall work scopes, construction plan, and quality control, etc.


On behalf of His Excellency the President of Senegal Macky Sall, the two ministers conveyed their appreciation of CWE’s dedication. They also underscored that the AMT project was high on the Government’s agenda in 2017, as it played a key role in establishing an effective regional traffic network, and that all parties should spare no effort in braving difficulties and pressing ahead with the project.


At the end of the inspection, Song Shixiang, CWE’s project manager, was interviewed by the Senegalese national television RTS. Song expressed his gratitude for supports from both the Government and its people, while briefing the project progress to the media, pledging that CWE will make strenuous efforts to present a quality project so as to boost Senegal’s economy and benefit locals.
