Recently, CWE Hong Kong organized an environmental education cleanup initiative at the Tseung Kwan O construction site, where the company is engaged in land leveling and foundation construction projects (hereinafter referred to as the “Project”).The event, themed “Promoting Cleanliness and Beautifying the Environment,” involved both locally-based and head office employees.
During the campaign, participants equipped with trash pickers and eco-friendly bags meticulously cleared various types of waste from the surrounding forest areas and along the mountain trails near the construction site. They also educated local residents on environmental protection, garnering support and appreciation from the community.
Throughout the construction process in Hong Kong, the company has placed a strong emphasis on environmental conservation and has been proactive in fulfilling its social responsibilities. It has carefully transplanted and cataloged 358 saplings and whip trees of conservation significance from around the project area, with regular health checks conducted by ecologists. Additionally, the project team has initiated the “Yau Yue Wan Site Hoarding Beautification Plan”, which involves students from nearby schools in creating environmental-themed artwork. These student creations are displayed on the construction site’s perimeter hoardings, adding a vibrant and attractive visual element to the local area.
