Release time:2026-02-01

Recently, the Rucalhue Hydropower Station Project in Chile received multiple letters of thanks from local communities. In these letters, the communities expressed their sincere gratitude to the Project Team for consistently upholding the philosophy of “Shared Growth and Common Progress” and actively supporting community development, youth growth, and the improvement of people’s livelihoods in the surrounding areas.
Sharing Christmas Care: Bringing Warmth to Communities
At the end of 2025, the Project donated Christmas supplies to local communities to support their festive celebrations. In their letters of thanks, community representatives expressed that this support enabled children and the elderly to participate in collective celebrations and spend a warm holiday together. They noted that the gatherings of residents and the laughter of children meant a great deal to the communities, helping everyone regain a sense of community cohesion that had been absent for years, which was truly the most precious holiday gift of all.
Scholarship Program: Alleviating Burdens for Youth, Fueling a Brighter Future
Education underpins community development. These letters specially highlighted that the scholarship program implemented by the Project has provided tangible assistance to local youth. It has effectively alleviated the financial burden of education and offered valuable opportunities for their growth and development. For many families, this support is far more than financial aid, it also serves as a powerful source of encouragement.
Community Project Development Fund: Empowering Local Community Organizations to Turn Their Dreams into Reality
In addition to its support for people’s livelihood, the Project has actively supported the work of local community organizations by establishing a “Community Project Development Fund”, further boosting their motivation and teamwork. The Los Junquillos Community stated in its letter that such support has provided vital backing for 10 local autonomous organizations. For instance, with the support of the fund, the Neighborhood Council of Los Junquillos Community advanced environmental improvement projects in the surrounding areas, including the construction of community perimeter walls and the renovation of sidewalks, and completed infrastructure upgrades such as roof repairs and kitchen expansion at community service premises. Meanwhile, the Women’s Social, Cultural and Entrepreneurship Committee set up an epoxy resin handicraft workshop. The Elderly Club organized recreational and wellness outings. The Sports Club installed anti-escape netting for the football field. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Management Committee replaced the main pumps and upgraded supporting facilities.
The communities fully acknowledged the company’s goodwill efforts in their letters of thanks and repeatedly expressed their willingness to jointly advance community governance with the enterprise. Moving forward, the Rucalhue Hydropower Station Project will continue to respond to community needs, engage in local community development in a more pragmatic and sustainable manner, striving to align project advancement with the enhancement of community well-being.
