On September 1, Shi Yingtao, the Vice Chairman of CWE, met in Beijing with Neo Matjato Moteane, Lesotho’s Minister of Public Works and Transport, to discuss further strengthening pragmatic cooperation. Chen Mili, Deputy General Manager of CWE, also participated in the discussions.
Shi expressed gratitude for the support and guidance provided by Lesotho’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport and shared an overview of the company’s history and business operations. He highlighted CWE’s comprehensive industry chain capabilities in large-scale transportation, urban development, water management, electricity, and new energy sectors. Shi emphasized that Lesotho had been a focal market for CWE, noting that recent economic development initiatives by the Lesotho government had created a favorable investment and operational environment for international partners. CWE is confident about the market prospects in Lesotho and looks forward to contributing to urban and transport development, as well as hydropower infrastructure and energy project development in the country, aiming to enhance local welfare.
Minister Neo Matjato Moteane commended CWE’s achievements in Lesotho, highlighting the deep friendship and solid cooperative foundation between China and Lesotho. With Lesotho’s economy currently experiencing rapid growth and a strong demand for electricity and other energy resources, he noted significant potential for development in the transportation and energy sectors. The Minister expressed hope that CWE would continue to leverage its expertise and invest high-quality resources to achieve more practical results in cooperation, thereby supporting Lesotho’s economic advancement to higher levels.
Personnel from CWE’s Market Development Department and the Mauritius Representative Office also participated in the discussion.
