On September 5, Jiang Shouguo, Vice Chief Economist of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and Chairman of CWE, attended a roundtable discussion in Beijing hosted by Guinea’s President, Mamadi Doumbouya. The discussion focused on cooperation prospects and the joint development initiatives for Guinea. Representing Chinese enterprises, Jiang delivered a speech at the event.
President Doumbouya expressed appreciation for the significant contributions made by Chinese enterprises in Guinea. He highlighted these enterprises as vital strategic partners of the Guinean government, noting that their investments in Guinea have spurred local economic development and improved living standards. The collaboration was described as a model of mutual benefit. Guinea values its traditional friendship with China and is confident that this bond will deepen further. The Guinean government encourages Chinese enterprises to continue supporting the development of sectors such as renewable energies, mining, infrastructure, and transportation to enhance local welfare.
In his speech, Jiang thanked the Guinean government for its support and assistance to CWE, providing an overview of the company and its operations in Guinea. As one of CCCC platforms, CWE has made notable contributions to Guinea’s power sector. He underscored the company’s commitment to supporting Guinea’s development as a steadfast supporter and key strategic partner in the energy and power sectors. Jiang outlined future plans to align closely with the Guinean government’s development strategies, focusing on areas such as photovoltaic energy development, electrical grid construction, power sector reforms, and mining infrastructure, continuing to lend professional expertise to support high-level economic development in Guinea.
During the meeting, Jiang also had a cordial exchange with Guinea’s Minister of Mines and Geology, Bouna Sylla.
