On September 3, Shi Yingtao, Vice Chairman of CWE, met in Beijing with Teddy Lwamba Muba, the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Minister of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity.
During the meeting, Shi expressed his gratitude for the support and guidance provided by the DRC’s Ministry of Hydraulic Resources and Electricity, and he shared an overview of CWE’s history and its primary operations in Africa. As one of the CCCC’s platforms, CWE boasts a full industry chain advantage in major transportation, urban development, hydraulics, electricity, and new energy sectors. Shi highlighted the DRC as a key market focus for the company, noting that electric power has become a crucial pillar for the country’s rapid economic development. Looking ahead, CWE is eager to participate in the construction of hydropower and new energy projects, as well as electric power infrastructure in the DRC, contributing its expert technical capabilities to support the country’s green and low-carbon development.
Minister Teddy Lwamba Muba acknowledged and praised CWE’s achievements in Africa, particularly its integrated approach to building several hydropower stations. He emphasized that the DRC’s economy is currently in a phase of rapid growth with significant energy needs, particularly in electricity. The Minister expressed his hopes for CWE to leverage its expertise and full industry chain advantages to continue providing high-quality resources. He looked forward to pragmatic cooperation in the fields of hydropower, new energy, and transmission and distribution, aiming to achieve substantial results that will elevate the DRC’s socio-economic development to higher levels.
The meeting was also attended by personnel from CWE’s Market Development Department and the Cameroon subsidiary of CWE.
