On July 25, local time, the San Gaban III Hydropower Project in Peru (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”) successfully completed the installation of the rotor for its second hydro turbine generator. With this milestone, the rotors for both turbine generators at the San Gaban Project are now fully installed, marking another significant achievement in the electromechanical installation phase and laying a solid foundation for the project’s scheduled commissioning and power generation.
The Project has a total installed capacity of 209.3 megawatts. The two installed hydro turbine generators are currently the largest capacity impulse turbine units fully produced in China, with a planned annual electricity generation of 12.52 billion kilowatt-hours. Once operational, the project will effectively alleviate the electricity shortage in southern Peru, significantly improve the living standards of residents in surrounding cities, and support local socio-economic development.
