Recently, the Mauritius Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr. Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram, visited the B103 Road Slope Stabilization Project (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”), which is being constructed by CWE. The project manager and representatives from the Mauritius Road Development Authority accompanied the Minister during the inspection.
During the visit, the Minister was briefed on the progress of the project. He conducted an on-site examination and was interviewed by local media. In the interview, the Minister noted that the project aims to improve traffic safety on the local B103 road and enhance overall road network safety. He expressed satisfaction with the current progress of the project and fully acknowledged CWE’s performance and technical capability in executing the project.
The project, undertaken by the company under an EPC model, marks the company’s first road-related project in the Mauritius market. Since its commencement in 2023, the project team has overcome challenges such as early-stage permit processing and rainy weather conditions. Currently, the project is progressing well with intense and orderly construction activities including slope anchor support and subgrade reinforcement.
Going forward, the project team will continue to adhere to safe and civilized construction practices, strictly control project quality and schedule, and ensure the project meets high-quality and high-standard completion to contribute more to the local economic and social development.
