From September 4 to 6, 2024, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was grandly held with the theme “Jointly Advancing Modernization and Building a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.” The summit brought together over 50 African member leaders, representatives from regional organizations in Africa, and international organizations, alongside Chinese leaders, to plan the path for high-quality cooperation over the next three years, propelling China and Africa together on a new journey towards modernization. This summit was the largest hosted by China in recent years in terms of scale and foreign leader attendance. During the summit, under the coordination of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), CWE deeply engaged in nearly 20 significant activities of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, achieving fruitful results.
As a key participant in the fields of water and hydropower as well as infrastructure construction in Africa, CWE places great importance on communication and connections with various African political and economic circles. Throughout the summit, CWE’s senior management team met with heads of state and key government officials responsible for investment, energy, and infrastructure from over a dozen countries including Kenya, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, Togo, Sudan, Guinea, Ghana, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, Ethiopia, Mauritius, and South Africa. They provided an in-depth introduction to CWE’s history, current development status, and comprehensive strengths, and engaged in detailed discussions on potential cooperation in water resources, electric power, and clean energy.
Heads of state and government officials from participating African countries expressed admiration for CWE’s outstanding achievements in water and hydropower as well as infrastructure construction. They commended the landmark projects CWE has developed in Africa and expressed a desire for CWE to continue leveraging its expertise to further enhance cooperation in areas such as hydropower plants, new energy, and transmission and distribution projects, aiming to elevate Africa’s economic development to higher levels.
Leveraging this high-level summit, CWE actively engaged in business exchanges with various African stakeholders, deepening mutual understanding and exploring paths for mutually beneficial cooperation. This not only effectively expanded CWE’s market presence and promoted corporate brand but also created a favorable external environment for deepening practical cooperation with African entities, further enhancing CWE’s international influence, market competitiveness, and brand reputation.
