2024 Environmental Performance Rating Certificates

Nam Lik 1-2, Nam Ngiep 2, and Nam Kong 1 are three hydropower plants invested and operated by CWE in Laos under the BOOT model, with a total installed capacity of 440 megawatts and covering the key regions in northern, central, and southern Laos. The hydropower plants have supplied over 13.9 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity to the national grid of Laos, which vigorously supported Laos’ national strategy of developing into the “Battery of Southeast Asia,” enhanced the country’s self-sufficiency in power supply, and injected dynamic “Chinese momentum” into the regional green development.
This rating was based on the 2024 environmental monitoring results, project performance reports, and multiple rounds of field inspections, with a focus on key indicators including the projects’ environmental management system, ecological protection measures, monitoring efforts, public communication mechanisms, and corporate social responsibility fulfillment. It represented a comprehensive evaluation of the company’s commitment to practicing sustainable development and performing its environmental responsibilities.
Moving forward, CWE will continue to integrate local operations with green development practices, fully comply with all environmental protection requirements, and actively fulfill its corporate social responsibilities, in a bid to contributing more wisdom and strength to building a China-Laos community with a shared future.
