On the day of the Project’s Open Day event, CGTN reporters interviewed Jiang Shouguo, Chairman of CWE, Hernán Yaipén Aréstegui, the Minister of National Infrastructure Management Authority of Peru, and representatives of Chinese engineers on site. Jiang Shouguo noted that CWE has undertaken and constructed approximately 20 projects in various sectors in Peru, including water conservancy and hydropower, municipal flood control, roads and bridges, power transmission and transformation, and mine infrastructure construction, contributing its part to the vigorous implementation of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in Peru. As Yaipén noted, the 2024 APEC CEO Summit is a significant event for Peru, a steadfast friend and partner of China. He expressed his hope that China, along with other countries, would explore investment opportunities in Peru to bolster the nation’s infrastructure development, generate additional employment, improve the income of residents, and stimulate social and economic progress.
CGTN also posted pictures and articles on Facebook, Twitter, and Weibo to highlight the Project. Additionally, it continues to publicize other typical projects of CWE in Latin America, including the San Gaban III Hydropower Project in Peru and the Canar and Naranjal Flood Control Project in Ecuador, showcasing CWE’s significant efforts and remarkable achievements in the “Belt and Road” Initiative.
