In November 2016, during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Peru, the two countries signed a Memorandum of the Mechanism for Development and Collaboration of the Energy Sector. The San Gabán III Hydropower Project in Peru stands as one of the achievements of this memorandum and has been classified by the Peruvian government as a priority project of national interest.
