Recently, the Cambodia Branch held its first Open Day at the Kirirom III Hydropower Station, themed “Pulse of the Silk Road, Linked Via Green Power”. More than 20 teachers and students from the Chinese School in Srae Ambel District, Koh Kong Province were invited to participate in the event.

　　On that day, students were guided through key areas such as the dam body, powerhouse, and central control room, getting a close look at how electricity is generated from water. Through simulation demonstrations and science popularization sessions, the students learned about the basic operations of the hydropower station, the principles of hydroelectric power generation, and the concept of green environmental protection, gaining a deeper appreciation for the benefits of clean energy. 

　　“Previously, I knew that the electricity in my home came from the Kirirom III Hydropower Station. However, after visiting the site today, I learned that every kilowatt-hour we use in our daily lives is actually generated through such complex technological processes. I will definitely save electricity from now on", said student Soma. Teacher Dechabyn also spoke highly of the event: "This field-based experiential science popularization is more vivid than textbook knowledge. It allows students to truly keep the concept of green development in mind, and is very meaningful for cultivating their scientific thinking and strengthening their sense of social responsibility”.

　　The success of this open day event not only opened a window of popular science for local young students to learn about hydropower knowledge but also deepened communication and cooperation between the enterprise and the school.
