On June 7, Wan Qizhou, Party Secretary and Chairman of China International Water & Electric Corp. (CWE), met with Ilyas Bakytzhan, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, in Beijing. The two sides held a discussion on deepening cooperation in energy infrastructure and other related sectors.
Wan expressed sincere appreciation for the long-standing trust and support the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan has extended to CWE. He provided a comprehensive overview of CWE's business development in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the company's strong commitment to the Kazakhstan market. He noted that two sides have already established productive cooperation across various areas. Currently, CWE is closely following projects in hydropower, water resources, electricity, renewable energy, and new urban construction in Kazakhstan. Wan highlighted that, leveraging its technical expertise and high-quality services, CWE aims to further strengthen its collaboration with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, contributing to the continued growth of China-Kazakhstan relations.

Ilyas Bakytzhan highly commended CWE's contributions to Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure development. He acknowledged the strong and ongoing cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the energy sector. With Kazakhstan's economy on a strong upward trajectory and increasing demand for large-scale infrastructure, he emphasized the importance of hydropower as a reliable partner in the country's energy and infrastructure projects. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that CWE would continue to leverage its technological strengths to expand cooperation in energy and urban development, taking the bilateral partnership to new heights and achieving tangible results.
