As the keynote speaker at the forum, Wan, representing China Communications Construction Group Company Limited (CCCG), emphasized that CCCG was one of the first Chinese companies to expand internationally, with an outstanding record in overseas operations. Since entering Kazakhstan in 2006, CCCG has successfully completed major projects such as the Moinak Hydropower Station and the Turgusun Hydropower Station, significantly enhancing the country's infrastructure and contributing to local economic and social development. Looking ahead, CCCG plans to deepen its collaboration with both local and international partners, strengthen its localization efforts, and create more iconic projects and "small yet exquisite" initiatives that promote industry synergy, shared benefits, and mutual growth to meet the region’s development needs.
During the forum, Wan also met with Nurlan Zhakupov, CEO of Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund (Samruk-Kazyna Fund). Nurlan praised CWE’s professional performance and social responsibility in Kazakhstan, expressing strong support for the company’s expansion in the energy sector and beyond. Wan thanked the Samruk-Kazyna Fund for its ongoing support and stressed the importance of using this summit to further align their strategies and drive more flagship projects, thus contributing to the “Golden Thirty Years” of the China-Kazakhstan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and achieving shared growth and development.
On June 17, Wan met with Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan. Akkenzhenov warmly welcomed the delegation and acknowledged CWE’s significant contributions to Kazakhstan’s energy and infrastructure sectors. He noted that CWE is an important partner for the Ministry of Energy, with a long history of fruitful cooperation. Kazakhstan will continue to support CWE’s operations and looks forward to further strengthening bilateral collaboration. Wan expressed his gratitude for the Ministry’s continued assistance and reiterated CWE’s commitment to expanding comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan in various sectors, contributing to the economic and social development of both countries.
