On July 26, Kenyan President William Ruto visited the Second Baricho-Kakuyuni Water Supply Project, LOT1 (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”), constructed by CWE. Accompanying the inspection were officials from Kenya’s Ministry of Water and the Coastal Water Services Board.
During his visit, President Ruto listened to a report from the project owner’s general manager on the project’s status and inspected the operational water reservoir. He participated in the unveiling ceremony of the project and delivered a speech, in which he highly praised and commended the project. He noted that the completion of the project was of great significance in improving the lives of the local community and expressed gratitude for CWE’s substantial contributions to the project’s construction.
The Second Baricho-Kakuyuni Water Supply Project, LOT1, is a key public utility project in Kenya’s coastal region. Undertaken by CWE under EPC model, construction began in April 2022 and was completed on April 30 of this year. The project has significantly increased the water supply in the region, effectively alleviating local water shortages.
CWE will continue to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, constructing more high-quality public utility projects, and contributing to the strengthening of Sino-Kenyan friendship and deepening of practical cooperation between the two sides.
The event received coverage from local Kenyan television and multiple media outlets.
