On September 10, local time, Alberto Marquina Poso, the Director of Emergency Management at the National Infrastructure Management Authority of Peru, inspected the Quebrada Huaycoloro Comprehensive Management Project (referred to as “the Quebrada Huaycoloro Project”).
During his visit, Marquina reviewed the completed sections of the Quebrada Huaycoloro Project on-site and received briefings from the project team on key aspects such as construction progress, environmental protection, and risk prevention. Marquina highly praised the progress of the Quebrada Huaycoloro Project, particularly commending the project team’s efforts in fostering friendly and harmonious relations with local communities and labor unions. He suggested that the project team thoroughly compile and summarize their construction experiences to potentially serve as exemplary practices for the Infrastructure Management Authority. Marquina expressed his hope that CWE, leveraging Chinese infrastructure and cultural development experiences, will not only fulfill this project with high quality but also explore its potential to create a multifaceted public project that incorporates flood control, community cultural exchange, and higher social value.
The Quebrada Huaycoloro Project, located in the eastern suburbs of Lima, capital of Peru, is a critical flood prevention initiative within the capital’s El Niño extreme weather reconstruction plan. Once completed, it will protect nearly 150,000 people in East Lima from the impacts of El Niño and other flood hazards. The project team has been actively fulfilling the high-quality development objectives set by CCCC and CWE, overcoming various challenges to advance the project efficiently. All major river channel works are expected to be completed by the end of October. The recent high praise from the site inspection by the owner once again demonstrates CWE’s high standards in project management and solid performance capabilities. This enhances CWE’s, and by extension, Chinese enterprises’ brand image in Peru, laying a solid foundation for further development in the region.
